Day 2: blurryface

So according to the TOP/DEMA lore, (at least from my understanding of it) blurryface was first introduced as the demon, or other half, evil side if you will, of Tyler in the album 'blurryface' and was the physical manifestation of all of his insecurities and fear and sadness, but it wasn't until Trench and the DEMA story that we learned that he was the product of one of the nine bishops of DEMA, who are the ones who are assigned to different people who reside in DEMA tasked with the job of changing who they are as people and sucking all energy and light and creativity from them, and Nico was the name of the one assigned to Tyler. He's the one who puts and black paint on Tyler's neck and hands in the music video for 'Jumpsuit' and was the creator of blurryface within him.

I thought about that concept for this next artwork and decided to depict my own little demon girl, Heidi.

Now Heidi has evolved quite a bit from what she originally was character-wise, and how I see her today. Originally she was just a complete, psychopathic monster, who feeds off of people's fears and sadness and pain and was obsessed with the idea of fear and destruction and chaos, but I was always battling her for control over myself and in an attempt to try and get rid of her once and for all.

It wasn't until recently that I came to the realization that I can fight her all I want, but the end result will always be the same, and that's because she is actually a part of who I am. As annoying and frustrating as she can be at times, I have to come to terms with that fact that she actually makes me who I am. Without her, I wouldn't be the person that I am today, and although it can be scary sometimes how much she has the capability of hurting people, the people who love me and care about me know that everything I say and do stems from a positive place, it just comes out wrong, and they'll always be there for me no matter what and love me for who I am, despite my flaws.

Now I've accepted the fact the Heidi and me are one, and although she can be loud and annoying and kinda scary, she's what makes me Sam, and her and I will take on the world together.
