Sammi-Arts — It's not God's fault you're so hateful.

Description I've been meaning to make this.
It's been on my mind for a while now and seeing more people getting hated by the Christian community for being homosexual reminded me to do this.
Mini rant time with Sammi.

A little while ago, I was going through these Christian deviants. Most of them having tons of stamps in their gallery or on their page about how much they hate homosexuals, transgendered people, and the like. And it just irks me. I see all this shit about how "Homosexual parenting is child abuse !!" and "God/Jesus hate fags !!" and it just makes me angry. I may not be Christian myself but, isn't Christianity about love and spreading love to others. Not this senseless hating? Seeing things like ExaltGod's gallery made me angry. It made me so angry I was sure I HATED Christianity. Then it hit me, it's not the religion I hate, it's the people who twist it to spread hate and anger to others.

A cherry picking Christian is a term used to describe a Christian who picks and chooses what they believe in. Now that would be fine, if they didn't use it to spread hate. They really only hate homosexuality and transgendered people because, it's against the bible.
Do you know what else is SUPPOSED to be against the bible?
Well:

- Consulting Psychics.
- Women dressing inappropriately.
- Masturbation.
- Watching porn.
- Wearing over excessive jewelry.
- Eating pork.
- Tearing your clothes.
- Eating small animals.
- Getting tattoos.
- Getting remarried.
- Gossiping.
- Over eating.
- Women speaking in Church.
- Playing football/soccer.
- Wearing polyester or any fabric blends.
- Pulling out during sex.
- Eating seafood.
- Working on Saturday.
- Round haircuts.
- Trimming your beard.

Need I go on?
Do you see these Christians preaching about these things as much as they do about homosexuality?
No. No, you don't.
Why? Because these people are picking and choosing what they believe in and what rules are "acceptable" to break.

From what I've learned from Christianity, if you sin, you are able to get God/Jesus's forgiveness.
Well, if you're gay or trans, why can't you, at the end of your life, go and get their forgiveness if it means so much to you? Isn't the same as getting forgiven of any other sin. Being gay can't be any worse then masturbating as sins go.

If you're gonna preach hate about something that goes against your religion, don't just pick the ones you want to hate.

If this gets flamed too much, I'll just disable comments later.

No offense, but I think it’s Sunday that the Bible is against people working on. I’m an atheist, but I’m just saying.

Oddly enough, even though I am Christian I don't hate gays and want all my gay friends to be safe and happy. I can't stand on a soap box and preach to any Non-Christian in the world, that's not within my right nor is it my job. If you want to know more about the God I follow, then feel free to ask me and I'll answer it to the best of my ablilities but I'm not going to force the Holy Bible down Non-Believers throats. So I can understand that not all of us is talking about other problems that Christians really should cover.

I am a Christian, but I don't hate homosexuals. After all, God/Jesus never said anything about them, and the Pope even said we should still love them because that's what God would want us to do.

To quote my favorite religious song (by the Black Eyed Peas), "Where is the Love?"

i never hated on homosexuals at all. I've always liked them. i even have a otp that is completely gay.
but to tell the truth.
we literally sin everyday.
huh.
but i hate to that my church tell us that.
"HOMOSEXUAL IS NOT SOMETHING TO SUPPORT."
i always wonder.
"what so bad about love?"
i even think about transgenders
WHAT THE FUCK ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO DO.
"i have no gender so i have the right to choose."
"but, i have have the same part as a guy but I consider myself as a girl"
it so confusing.

this is what i believe in.

i am a christian but im ok with gay marriage.
i do not think the world will get better at all.
as people keep on singing about how they want the world to get better....
years and years go by and we get worse.
my hope in the world id lost.

Ah, exactly! This basically sums everything up with what's wrong with so many Christians.

//Also, I hope it doesn't sound I'm nitpicking here, it's transgender not transgendered. It's just that some trans people really hate the latter spelling and I don't want you to get hate from that. Sorry if I'm bothering you!//

I agree with you Sammi. Though I follow the Christian theology, I do not judge a person based on their choice of lifestyle. So long as they can respect my choice of belief I shall do so. Similar to the Pharisees and Sadducees of the New Testament, there are those within the community that set negative example as what it means to be a Christian, and may make choices that go against the ideas of one.  Whether some of them are misguided or overzealous, they give Christians a bad name because such actions show that they are no better than the ones they say is wicked.

'A preconceived idea of what it all meant
For those that liked the same sex
Had the characteristics
The right wing conservatives think it's a decision
And you can be cured with some treatment and religion
Man-made rewiring of a predisposition
Playing God, aw nah here we go
America the brave still fears what? we don't know.
And "God loves all his children" is somehow forgotten
But we paraphrase a book written thirty-five-hundred years ago'

'A culture founded from oppression
Yet we don't have acceptance for 'em
Call each other faggots behind the keys of a message board
A word rooted in hate, yet our genre still ignores it
Gay is synonymous with the lesser
It's the same hate that's caused wars from religion
Gender to skin color, the complexion of your pigment
The same fight that led people to walk outs and sit ins
It's human rights for everybody, there is no difference!
Live on and be yourself.'

'When I was at church they taught me something else
If you preach hate at the service those words aren't anointed
That holy water that you soak in has been poisoned
When everyone else is more comfortable remaining voiceless
Rather than fighting for humans that have had their rights stolen
I might not be the same, but that's not important
No freedom 'til we're equal, damn right I support it'

These reasons is why I don't want to be considered a Christian, even though I was raised by the faith. I have no idea where the message of hate even came from, because as I remember, Christ himself said that the two most important commandments were to love him and to love others. Love should take the highest priority, that is what is written! I understand they want to put more focus on the Old Testament, but the time-period those stories took place in were a very different time, during the rise of civilization up to Christ's birth. Do you seriously want to bring in law from way back then? Why don't we just go build pyramids and huge catacombs too while you're at it. There's a difference in learning your history and cherry-picking what works from history and amplifying it to spread hate. The fact that the New Testament even had Christ say himself that the old law isn't as relevant and propose a new commandment that spreads love just doesn't seem to go noticed by anyone anymore... DOES NO ONE EVEN REVIEWS THEIR BIBLE STUDIES ANYMORE!?!?!

doesnt the bible say
' love thy neighbor ' ?
I'm Catholic, yet wtf
this is stupid how people are not loving

Supposively god loves everything and everyone, and he wants the same ? So what is with the stupid hate??

When it comes down to it everyone can do what they want and we can't hate their choices. We can't hate what their born with and we can't hate looks. Love thy neighbor should be saying in internet terms:
Keep Calm
and
Love on
and stop being picky-

Sorry for dorky ads comment-

This is how I see it:

People who use their religion to spread love and forgiveness, and help them be or become a better person = good

People who use their religion to find excuses that let them get away with ruining another person's life = bad

The religion itself = Hey, if god exists, cool. I'm pretty much certain that he didn't write the bible, though.

YES to all of this.
Just yes.

First off, I'll just go with the pope says.

"If someone is gay and he searches for the Lord and has good will, who am I to judge?"

Im not christian at all either, Im just not any religion. I wasnt raised with it, and I just
dont know it very well. But all people have tried to do is shove it down my throat and
tell me I cant be with the people I love and be "disgusting" why why why

This is so important! Awesome stamp, awesome message Sam ;;A;;

I used to be Christian myself, and then I moved on to being a Jehovah Witness (never did I once go to a door thank god), and finally I'm here at being agnostic. The list you gave of things that are sins... It really just makes me think that Christianity itself is already full of shit, it's just the people who are worse with it. XD I mean come on, eating seafood? Working on Saturday? Bodily management? Exercise? The material your clothes happens to be made of? Sounds like Grade A bullshit to me.

DudelSaur [2015-08-09 15:12:48 +0000 UTC]

The Old Testament is not only a religious book, it was a code of conduct and social norms of the ancient Israelites. Now, I am raised Christian and believe in God, however the God I believe is different and is also shrouded in mystery.

Being able to interpret the Bible is probably why there are so many denominations of Christianity. That's fine, however, I believe taking it literally and/or what God ACTUALLY said is a fatal mistake. Remember the Bible was written by people years after the fact, especially the New Testament, and there are a load of gospels that have been deemed unfit to be included, such as the Gospel of Mary Magdalene.

Knowing this, I believe firmly that any and all religion should be separate from state; we no longer live in a time where it is the same thing (which is a disaster; religion is a search for a greater truth, but has been used as a weapon to grant people political power, and unfortunately Christianity has been the weapon of choice).

Jesus and God aren't at fault. Humans are. Human individuals are. Hating anyone is wrong, and that's fundamental in this religion. I've heard people say online that one cannot be Christian and not believe homosexuality is wrong. So, me being Christian, I'm obligated to hate you according to others hateful testaments? Uh, no. That's like saying you can't be Islamic without being a terrorist; it's racism in it's finest! >

Don't listen to people like that, Sammi. They, as one woman who left the Westboro Baptist Church said, are lost. It is not a true religion if it is guided by hate, fear, and intimidation. That reigns true with anyone who uses a theology against you.

Cherry picking Christians are so bad they actually made me Christ-phobic...
I have a lot of Christian friends, but the mention of God or Jesus can actually make me cry.
Is that bad?

Soft-Echo [2015-08-09 12:49:30 +0000 UTC]

Right on point!
I couldn't agree more with you, Sammi.
I've known so many Christians in my life to be so hateful towards certain things that humans "shouldn't do."
I've gotten very sick of being treated like I'm lesser than someone because of their beliefs. That's not how it works.
Humans are humans, we're all the same. Flawed and never exactly like another.
Ugh, like- there was once where I was trying to be friends with a girl and we had a lot of things in common that we enjoyed. However- as soon as it got to the topic of sexualities and love, welp.
"Oh, I'm pansexual." "What? ...Those don't exist. God didn't make those." "Well, shit, I missed the memo."
We weren't friends anymore- really quickly.

I'm at least glad to say that I know some who don't do that and are understanding while being Christian.

THIS. This is so true. While I may be Catholic, I don't hate on homosexuals/transgenders (I actually am one)/being anything other than straight (I sure as hell know I'm not straight)/ect. It honestly SICKENS me how some of the people are in my community just JAM the bible down everyone's throat. Honestly I see it as this, Why would God hate homosexuals and others? Aren't they God's Children? Plus another thing, aren't suppose to Love thy Neighbor? How are you doing that by preaching HATE at services and prosecuting others for how they are? Isn't that breaking one of the ten commandments?

Well Sammi, you be what ever you wanna be. I'm not gonna hate on you and judge you for it, because in my eyes you are the same as any other person. Just because you aren't straight doesn't make you any less worth being here on this earth. You have a right to be who you wanna be jsut like I do. So go ahead and paint your own colors and keep being you, you warm loving human-being! <3

I actually cannot agree with you more.
I once tried talking to a Christian since she offended my friend who is gender fluid and thinks of themselves as a pansexual.
I said that in Bible isn't considered a "sin" to be homosexual/pan ect but homo/pansexuals ect. wouldn't go to heaven. She didn't listen to me and said "what kind of messed up bible are you reading?!" before giving me some verses from "bible" (I don't call anything a bible if it isn't in my hands.) and blocked me.
Now, I myself don't believe in God etc. However, I do believe that God (and/or whoever any other religion believes in) would NEVER hate homosexuals because I was thought that God loves everyone.
Your points are also very good since a lot of these rules are true and I am glad that I finally see someone doing stamp about cherry picking Christians.
Hope you are not going to get flamed for that too . o .
