INTODUCING A NEW CHARACTERRRR,This woman here is Baya. She's a business woman, a mom and a grandmother. She runs a jewelery business and...she's Yacin's boss! She's kind of a no-nonsense woman, she's strict but she's fair. As long as you do the job correctly, and that you're honest, she'll be great. Just don't get on her bad side. She doesn't like people to know this, but she's a softy in reality...
Yacin works in the market in her jewelery stand, as a seller! He's very convincing and charming, and excellent salesman. He could get you to buy a rock if he ever tried. (for those wondering, Ella works in a bakery, and Amayas and Kenan have their own repairing business. Basically both of them are Mr. Fix-It. )
NOW, GARED needs a job, since he can't simply leach onto Kenan's family savings /feeding and dressing people is expensive, or so I heard./. So, Kenan sent him with Yacin to go job hunting. AND WHATDAYA KNOW?
He starts tomorrow.

I'm not sure if Gared is capable of doing as good as a job as Yacin, but at least he's working with someone he knows, it should make his life easier 8D Especially with all that culture shock he suffers <3

Aahh no he isn't quite as good, but it's a good job to learn people skills, see the rest of the community, meet more people, get more in touch with the language, customs etc. That's what Kenan really wanted to be honest

Is there a different language in the South than in the North? That makes sense, especially with your Gared journal entries, did Gared have to learn the Southerner's language on his own or was there a translator anywhere for him?

Well, in this universe, there is the Common Language everyone speaks /since a veeeeeery long time/, and then each region /nation has it's own dialect or language! But of course, each country/region has it's own way of speaking the common language, and they have their own accents etc!
So Gared was okay to start off, but he inevitably learnt the basics of their language!

Goodness. Does this mean that Yacin can tease him and give him bad advice both at home AND at work? Or are their jobs more separate? I don't know which would be better or worse for Gared 
That aside, I really like her design! All of the different aspects of her personality that you listed come out in it

THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT IT MEANS. Gared gets to get selling/flirting advice which fails miserably, and Yacin get's to make Gared say random things in their language...Oh no, it's a team work job, they'll be working as a pair, since the guy that worked with Yacin before is on paternity leave...
Naah Gared's not really the convincing type...
