Description Dunkirk #7, a well-kept, well aged woodburning geared locomotive, winds around a curve with a mixed freight in tow.

Set up a layout yesterday in varyingly nice/okay weather specifically to run the newest arrival, a Hartland 'Big John' Dunkirk in a lovely green.

Been wanting one for a long time, and now I've got it. Powerful beastie that so far pulls anything behind it...

They've been on their website for ages. That's how I came to love and acquire mine. Was somewhere around $350.

They're more expensive on eBay. Typically average $400.

Not LGB, Hartland Locomotive Works. Supposed to be a cobbled pre-Heisler beastie.

Real Dunkirk for reference. www.gearedsteam.com/dunkirk/im…

And yes all non-european stock of mine is weathered. Haven't touched any of the lovely 2 axle LGB stuff cause I feel those look better when taken care of.

Oh I've seen the dunkirks, but this model never before, it's so odd!

This model is actually a green balloon-stacked version of the typical red/black diamond stack one Hartland makes, www.reindeerpass.com/images/pr… but the green type is reportedly out of production. Obviously I didn't want to let one slip away...
