Here's my advice. Draw more like this man. Its very well done, and I think if you carry on with it it'll make your work more interesting. Pixel profiles are all well and good, but if you keep this up, you can do all sorts of angles. You clearly have the talent for it, so try it out more.

Why thank you sir! I did indeed put a larger amount of focus into detail realism. Adding the frame and Reversing linkage is what stands out the most to my eyes.

Well the only issues to my eye are the pilot looked like random shapes before I studied it, and perhaps next time leave the outline off the smoke, I mean other than that its fine.

The Pilot is small, and Cast Solid.

Smoke tends to like being a pain in the ass

Aye, I can see what you've done with the pilot now.

As for the smoke, I've drawn up a rough step by step of how I do smoke with random outlines digitally, but it could work for traditional means, take a look and have a go if you want to. [link]

It's probably close to wat you'd do anyway, but gives you an idea of what I mean by random line outlines.

Usually the Underside is what gets the Darkest lines, and the smoke itself is all just random curves I draw. Kinda odd, and it only works sometimes.

I've found Tissues work the best for blending smoke after you shade it it, unless they're dark lines dug into the paper. ._.

Best idea for blending, get a putty eraser. Theyre far better than tissues, hardly smudge, and you can do more with those than you can with a normal, chap eraser. might cost a dollar or two more than usual erasers, but trust me, its worth it, especially when you can literally dab the faintest lines off.

I like it! I like it a lot actually! Though I find that the bell is in an odd place.

And is there a photo link to this Porter built 4-4-0 you mentioned?

the Bell is just side mounted XD

And sadly the photo is in a Narrow Gauge & Shortline Gazette issue I returned to my Grandfather recently...
