Winter.

Up in Northern Montana, the season has just begun, and the land has just started to be hit hard by a blowing, freezing blizzard. Visibility is down to a quarter mile on the flatter regions.

Then, in the distance, through the whistling of wind and falling snow, an unearthly, muffled drum beat is heard.

The beats get louder, more pronounced....

A beam of light finds its way through the fog...

Then, like an apparition, a massive, metal monster clanks into view, soldiering through the howling winds, its heartbeat shaking the ground beneath with incredible power.

It cares not for the freezing temperature - The roaring fire within keeps it warm as it snorts a column of dark, hot smoke high into the air.

It continues past, clawing at the cold rails, pushing snow asunder, and pulling along freight cars of deadfall Logs, which rattle and squeal in protest behind...

The engine vanishes into the Fog beyond, and after a few moments, the little snow-packed caboose at the end quietly trundles past, enveloped by the white-out storm beyond.

In the stillness after, a chilling, deep blast from a Whistle echos past, continuing for miles around through the cold air...
