Description The GLORIUS six-axle, ridiculously powerful geared locomotive of the Colorado Railroad Museum, alongside Shay #14, both former West Side Lumber Company locomotives.

Shay #12 is a Lima built 3-truck, 3 cylinder shay that found its way to the Georgetown Loop railroad, and operated alongside Shay 14 and 2-8-0 #40, until all of the GLRR's equipment was moved to the Colorado Railroad Museum following a major dispute, and ownership change of the Loop just a few years ago.

Nonetheless, all of the Loop's former locomotives and rolling stock have found a happy, crowded home at the Museum, and are operated quite often, besides Shay #14 which is currently sitting offline. *

I had the privilege to watch Shay #12 be turned on the turntable ten feet away from myself at one point, and have recorded sounds of it operating, as well as its whistle.

Let me tell you though, it is quite the sight to see in action...

* Shay #14 is offline for the long-term due to a broken axle.
