Description
Recreation of a retro Chevy parts sign - original was 12x12 square on metal. Client wanted this design for a cornhole board (yeah, I know!) which will be 4 feet tall by 2 feet wide. A new layout was required while keeping the art true to the original. The pistons were recreated faithfully, but put on longer shafts. The yellow section of the sign was lengthened, and the "Genuine Parts" text (which I had to recreate by hand, as I couldn't identify the original font) and the "Established 1911" text were made larger. Then, once the basic design was laid out, I imported into Photoshop to 'distress' the 'paint' that made up the image. Then, it was exported as a PNG and laid over a background photo of rusted steel, which was cropped to size.
