Nah, that never occurred to me. Besides, Hogwarts isn't in Chicago. Just a generic hint at a private school crest, that's all. It's just as likely to be Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters!

I really like Faith, and your art in this as a whole. Tho, not to be rude, but Harry never wears a hat in the books or short stories...only on the cover art. (Then again, this is kinda cover art, isn't it? ><

To be honest, I had only been exposed to Harry in that short story when I did the illustration - I'd never heard of Jim Butcher before it. Somehow the hat felt right.

Luckily, Jim agreed when he saw the art.

Very nice work, I really like the atmosphere of this. I could really see your style working well within a graphic novel format.

Thanks - I struggled a bit before I hit on the right composition. Drawing Faith's face drove me nuts.

Thanks. Jim was very complimentary when he saw it. He told me I caught the character of Faith really well. I'd probably produce a significantly different picture now that I've actually read some of the Dresden Files novels - the short story was my first introduction to Jim's work, so I was mostly drawing from the descriptions there.

Polar15: I've done it myself. And so far its a really good thing to do when you're interested in illustrating - so my teachers say ^^ I love it... and be prepared to be loved more for this
