We ventured into the production of our own personal interpretation for 【The Seven Deadly Sins】.
The third illustration concerns: 『Ira 』Latin name for Wrath.

Symbolism:

LION SKULL: The figure of the Lion is ambivalent, but in the classical iconography of this sin, the Lion can be one of its symbols. In its negative value the Lion is the symbol of the untamed instincts, symbol of the evil world and image of the enemy that devours. For wrath or anger kills and devours. Here is also in the skull version to remind the Vanitas.

  CARNATION (Flower): This flower can have different and conflicting meanings, especially through its colors. Red flower, over ardor, can express anger and resentment.

  FACE: The face is swollen and red because the anger changes the body to the bubbling blood. There aren't the pupils of the eyes, because the impetus of anger makes people blind in front of things. Foaming at the mouth is the man overwhelmed by anger and with the words trying to offend.

  SWORD: The anger immediately takes up arms to the hands, which they procure revenge with the damage. Symbolizes the offense with gestures. The HUMAN SKULL is the damage brought with the death of others.

  TORCH: It symbolizes the heart of man that continually is on and consumed by anger.

  OCTOPUS TENTACLES: In ancient times, these octopus wes seen as messenger of the abyss, a symbol of disturbing grip. It is considered a sly and ambiguous animal. In addition he was connected the reputation of aphrodisiac animal, which could bring obscene and lustful dreams.
