Description Painting in black ink, on A3 watercolor paper.
Title: Flickan & kråkan

Inspired by a song with the same title, by Mikael Wiehe. Below I have tried to translate a few lines from the song that inspired me the most.

I saw a picture of a girl,
with a wounded crow in her arms.
She runs away through the forest as
fast as she ever could.

The girl is small and her hair is so bright
and her cheek is so flickering red.
The crow is clumsy and cawing black,
in a moment, it will be dead.

And she runs with twinkling eyes,
she runs on tiny legs.
For she knows it is true, what her father has said,
where there is life, it is never too late.

your skill with watercolor and ink is astounding im curious to know what made you you gravitate towards these over other mediums?

A friend started using black ink and thought I should try it. I already knew I was terrible with watercolors, but I gave it a try. And I do think it was love at first stroke. It resembled to the way I'm used to working with graphite pencils; I can work with it in layers to get it darker and mix it in different shades. Plus I really liked working with a brush and it didn't take me as long to finish as with oil paint. I like the blackness you can get with it and the messy or flowy feel, it's a lot of fun! I hope that answered your question

You got a wonderful style, so dark and depressive and yet so harmless... i love it.. What do you mean by black ink?
so, you are doing the lines with a graphit pencil or somethin, and then with.. what?... how are you working? It's awesome!

Thank you so much I paint it with black ink and get the different tones by adding water, then an ink pen for details as well as some white ink.

It's something I've explored by myself. I suck at watercolors, but painting with ink is easier for me, it's more like graphite pencils in a way I guess.

Yeah, i think so.. Do you use a special variety of ink pencils? For example, a more caligraphic pencil for getting the water on later...?

I do the painted layer first, then I go in with pen, I just use a different size on the pen if needed.

It is a fantastic illustration to the song, they are both very strong. I like the softness in the shadows, and her hands.
