Description Had the opportunity to paint a landscape painting again for the trading card game Inferno. It was a lot of fun, as I learned a lot from still life painting lately and you actually can translate it into landscape painting, still I changed the calibration of my monitor and I'm now really uncertain about the colors and values. It has become a real struggle and some much back and forth. I think I just need a good monitor instead of this stupid mess that keeps happening

how do you translate still life -> landscape?

well i learned a lot about depth from doing still life studies and how to concentrate the viewer a little bit more on certain subjects

Oh wow, this is a gorgeous landscape. I love the blues, and how most of it is in shadow. It makes it look so real.

Really nice landscpae! Also calibrated my laptop monitor shortly ago. It's really a huge mess to figure all those colour management data out, but once you get behind it it's pretty easy and totally makes a difference

hmm yeah its really hard to find a site that explains that stuff in detail, there are so many variables to consider

That's unfortunately right. Most people never face that problem, and those who do normally do because of their job. It kept me about two days searching to get everything right again

I myself calibrated my monitor in the light I normally work in (for me something in between daylight and artificial light), so colours look right to me without having to adjust the surroundings first Normally the calibration software wants to adjust lights to the optimum for the monitor which is understandable and useful if you have a fixed working station with optimal surroundings but not if you use a laptop (at least that's my opinion). I had to trick my calibration software a bit but it worked I'm pretty happy with the result since my monitor kept making every colour pretty blueish.

I'll say it here again, this looks awesome. Very nice colors, they work really well together.Β

I think you did a great job buddy! Each person will see something different in this image, for me its almost half lunar base (heavy on the sci-fi) and the other half a long forgotten but still inhabited arctic outpost (also heavy on the sci-fi)

Tc m8 & keep drawing!
