We have a phidippus johnsoni jumping spider here. There are jumping spiders I've seen that have a solid orange-red abdomen, and it turns out those are the males and this is a female. I got some good pictures of this one with her beady little eyes looking right at me. I don't think she liked me there much. She was walking along the railing on my deck and I happened to see her while taking pictures of a jewel spider. While taking walks I've seen the male jumping spiders on plants but never female. Today was the only time I'd seen a female jumping spider. I just found out that in 2012 NASA sent one Johnson Jumper into space for a YouTube competition.Nefertiti
