Oh, so beautiful... it's fascinating to see some of the lesser-known European breeds... I was aware that most European countries have their version of the livestock guarding dog (Kuvaszok, Great Pyrenees, Akbash, Maremma, Anatolian, Karakachan, et cetera), and I guess it makes sense that there are herding breeds along those lines as well. At least, I'm assuming the Pyrenean Shepherd is a herding breed, yes?

Yes, that is absolutely correct! And you are right - most of those heavy livestock guardians have an agile cousin doing the herding in the same region.

I'm not sure. I would say blue merle, but I'm not very good at the colors in this breed.
