Description
Living in groups of dozens of individuals, Dracocentaurus alepidis AN. are Centaurosoma that presents certain behaviors that indicate a social organization derived from conscious and communicative intelligence. Different groups present distinct languages composed of sounds, body language and "tail" movements, with these groups presenting a certain social complexity based on favors, alliances and even revenge.
They are omnivore (eating portions of the NCANs and hunting Multigena unocrusta AN.) and one group was observed putting small rocks on top of a large stone before hunting, apparently with no specific purpose.

The fact that they have a form of simple society or at least a certain intelligence allowing them to use tools for their advantage is really intriguing to me...

Thank you! It helps that I usually represent the more "different" species in the subphylum to better show the variation of Policaptas. In total, the majority of species are cigar-shaped, like these .

Yes, i just try to show the extremes of the body forms to avoid too much repetition. Just look at arthropods for example: as much diverse in form as they are, in general, the body patterns are pretty clear among it's species.

one question, does Dracocentaurus (as well as the rest of the life on Anu) belong to a existing animal phylum (like Arthropoda or Chordata) or does it (and the rest of the life) belong in a phylum of its/their own?

More like chimps, actually. While they use simple tools, there's no instance of the species using fire or preparing their food by other means (yet)

I've also got a question! In a lot of your drawings of your Policapta, the organisms have a protrusion near their front legs. It's especially visible on yourΒ B. immanis piece, and appears to be here too (between the first and second pairs of legs).Β

It's their genitals/excretory organs. Since there are no sexual dimorphism on the capillosoma, almost all of them have "penises" on their front, and this protrusion is where they are.Β Β ^^

Sexual reproduction, like us, with the difference being that there are no separate sexes. Usually, with exceptions, they reproduce exchanging "gametes" between them, in a game of strength, where's the strongest impregnates as many as it can.

This design was my first attempt at alien design when I was a little child, a reptile/insect/draconic/centaur, so I guess you can say it is inspired by my childhood.
