A Lumix shot from Tink's patch of Pixie Hollow on Saturday night. When asking if I'd found any new lost things, I mentioned I'd bought a shirt featuring a juggling Mickey silhouette with World Showcase flags in honor of the World Cup (I'd also been wearing an old US away jersey, oddly enough!) Tink then explained that they'd been getting into it over in Pixie Hollow and used both names - football and soccer - and had been using spider webs for goals because there isn't a goal with netting that could handle a pixie-sized ball.

I then asked if she'd managed to fly down to Brazil for the World Cup, and she said she hadn't been able to do so. I then said I hoped that at least Rosetta and Fawn had been over to Manaus. Tink said they would have loved that - but still wasn't ready for the explanation, as I explained that they'd put a stadium in the middle of the Amazon rainforest. This was true, as the Arena Amazonia had been built there for the tournament and had tested teams' ability to handle tropical conditions.

As she gasped, I went on to explain that it hadn't just hosted meaningless games - our game against Portugal had been there, as had England vs. Italy (and, though I didn't mention it, Croatia vs. Cameroon and Switzerland vs. Honduras.) She then said, "Oh, my gosh! So, like, everybody came together to play this huge game, huh? It kind of reminds me of the Pixie Hollow Games." I grinned and said, "It is a little bit like that." To that, she responded, "Yeah, that sounds like fun!"
