also what pencils, be specific eg softcore colourd pencils (just an example!)

i use softcore. they have markers, too and a type of pencil called verthin for detail work, but i like the softcore better; leaves for better blending. oh, and i use a colorless blender to blend colors together.

at any art supply outlit. i don't now what you have in the UK, but i got mine at Michael's Art supply. they're not cheap, though.
