I've been trying to keep the dogs close to the girls' ethnicity (like with Jasmine as an Afghan) . Even if it's just the general area. Belle is French, and collies are from the U.K., but it's Europe. Ok, I know Esmeralda is a Gypsy, so having her be an Irish Water Spaniel doesn't fit her ethnic heritage, but the fur was all wild and curly and it worked! I also kept a few of her accessories, unlike with some of the others (you'll see more of them in future) . "Justice" is Esmeralda's word- she fights for justice for her people, and for the other downtrodden of the world. I don't remember where I got the background, I've had it for a long time.... Anyway, I hope this fits

Apparently Afghans are gypsy dogs, and lurchers, I think. I know that dalmatians are carriage dogs, does that fit the genre?

Afghans are sight hounds which were used for centuries as hunters. Β I don't know about them being "gypsy dogs" but it wouldn't surprise me. Β And yes, Dalmatians were bred to look good while trotting beside carriages XD Β (Thanks!)

if frollo was a dog he'd would be a greyhound.

I was thinking a less excitable breed (greyhounds are really hyper) , though the build is about right. Β Perhaps a Saluki, since they're more elegant, but still have that lengthy appearance.

That looks nothing like a Irish water spaniel, and I should know, my family have brought up IVS dogs for as long as I can remember.

Perhaps you or I know it under another name, but all teh Irish Water Spaniel pictures I've seen and used look this way (granted, I took a bit of license because it's supposed to vaguely resemble her, but not too much) . I think, given the artistic license I took with the character, I'll probably keep her as is. Certainly, her coat is not as tightly-curled, but I wanted it to resemble her human hair ^__^

Man, the curls are gorgeous on this one. I love how the details turned out, and this is absolutely a perfect fit for Esmerelda, even if it isn't a type of dog that would be in her native area. Also, I love the detail and effort you put into the texture and color in the background, and the look in her eyes just draws you in.
