I blame Courage being ooc and all that jazz. Dammit, Cour, why u do that??? T_T
It's horrible for me because I understand where both of them are coming from morally in that scene. I've been on the receiving end of people doing things that drive me nuts on purpose, so I want to feel like Courage was justified in his reaction. But at the same time, what Courage did hurt Computer on a fundamental level, which is something that should never be done to someone regardless of the circumstance. After rereading that scene multiple times I think I've found the point where Courage crosses MY theoretical moral line, but I still feel like there is a moral dilemma here. I guess it's one of those situations where there is no winning morally. No matter what Courage would have done, someone would still be in the wrong. That's why the forest arc tears me up so much. Sorry for the ramble, but I needed to get that off my chest. AHEM! What?

I know how Courage must've felt as well, I've been there as well as you unfortunately
But I agree it was not all necessary
As mentioned in later chapters, I think Computer deserved the first punch, the rest was needless violence / pent up aggression at best

And given his background.. yeesh. Courage, you couldn't picked a tree to punch man

I slightly disagree. With the way Computer egged Courage on, I think he deserved up until the point where he stops throwing insults and tries to clarify a personal boundary. Everything after that was completely unjustified and above all unnecessary. If they could have talked it out beyond that point, then I think they would have been okay, but if courage had only punched him once, then nothing would have been accomplished at all. An eye for an eye, so to speak. I guess that must make me an asshole, but that's how I see it.

I guess the only reason I see it that way is because I have a similar mindset to Computer when it comes to blaming himself for what happened. I DO think that part of it was his fault. He poked the animal, and then he got bit. Of course I don't think he deserved ALL of it, but I would be a little more sympathetic if he hadn't practically bullied Courage into defending himself. He crossed a line when he should have stopped, but his lack of understanding flesh creatures and just how much his quips hurt other people makes it unreasonable to hold him completely accountable for what happened. I certainly don't think he deserved to feel like he was the only one at fault.

I know the ideal would be to have avoided this entire situation in the first place, but it was a vital part of their character development and I think they both would have been worse off if it HADN'T happened at all. Sometimes, things have to get bad for them to ever get better. OKAY. RAMBLE OVER.
.... This is what happens when I'm allowed to think. lol

Hmmm well I do agree with you there
I only stated what Computer deserves when it came to the 'eye for an eye' kind of thing
But I agree the best way to solve things would be through communication

Seriously though, I'm always open to discuss stuff about All Things End. I actually used to have a friend who I'd talk about the story with a lot, but we had a falling out and I kind of miss having discussions about things in the story.

I'd love to discuss the story with people. I've loved it since I first started reading it back in 8th grade, though I definitely understand and appreciate it better as a sophomore. I have a skype but not a tumblr so unless you have a skype then I'll just have to stay here. T_T And this is why I have no friends.

I do have something that's been on my mind lately. Would you mind if I compiled my own music playlist for All Things End? I know you have a playlist already compiled, but I've found plenty songs within my own library of music that are extremely fitting in certain aspects of the story/characters. I've already said that I'll probably start attributing songs to certain scenes. You don't mind that, do you?
