Quite the charmeur, Ashcroft prefers to spend his time chatting with beautiful ladies or handsome men, lounging on velvet sofas and smoking expensive cigars. Sharp of tongue and intelligent, he likes to engage in deep conversations from time to time, lightening up the mood with intellectual jokes when things get too serious for him. Being born a noble made him spoiled however and spending time with the upper-class of London caused him to turn into a narcissist. Ashfort has an unhealthy obsession for beautiful and mystical things, indulging himself into the Romantic arts, making friends with poets, musicians and painters. There are some rumours about his sanity, but then again, aren't all great artists mad?
Watch out when he seems too gallant, for he is a dangerous man and used to getting what he wants.

⭐︎ L I F E & D E A TH ⭐︎
Born in 1832 as heir of the noble Whitfield family, Frederic Ashfort grew up being pampered and spoiled. Admired for his witty remarks, creative outbursts and the fact that he picked up foreign languages so quickly, Ashfort never knew refusal or disappointment. At the age of 16 he started his study ancient languages at Oxford University. He didn't feel like leaving however once he received his degree, because college life suited him well and he was very popular. After being the head of some secretive cult-like student group, having several affairs with both men and women and having insulted several professors numerous times he was expelled and had to return to London. There he quickly picked up his extravagant life however and joined some obscure religious cult that held séances and soirees, his two favourite kinds of gatherings.
Ashfort quickly fell in love with some girl that was used as medium for the séances, being enchanted by her unearthly charms. When Cholera broke out she was one of the victims. Crying over her dead body until the doctors had to drag him away for the sake of his health Ashfort decided to pay for her funeral. Having found a beautiful and remote place for the girl's grave he spent many of his days and nights there, writing depressing poetry and attempting to summon her ghost. Winter came however and the cold wind took its toll on his delicate lungs. Ashfort spent his last few months in bed at the family estate before his body finally gave in to pneumonia.

Chapeaugraphy is the art of shaping a simple piece of cloth into numerous hats. Since the Seelenzirkus isn't just any circus, Ashfort was offered the gift to take chapeaugraphy a step further, allowing him to take a visitor's napkin and shape it into an amazing hat. His act is especially popular with the ladies. He takes their napkin and turns it into a headpiece of a kind, often defying the laws of physics with its strange shapes and colours. This process is hidden by a pink smoke his hat emmits, which smells of roses and bathbombs. The "enchantment" wears off as soon as a person leaves the grounds of the circus.
