Description Description
This photo (or should I say, the process to have taken it) just represents my (eccentric) love for butterflies.

I was sitting by the garden door talking to my mother who was outside watering our plants with a hose pipe, when she suddenly spotted a butterfly flying into our garden and landing on one of the leaves of our orange tree. My mother knows me well enough, and knew I'd be delighted if she pointed it out to me. Adrenaline rush. Even though the chances of it staying there till I made a run for my camera were small, I still did - ran down to my room, grabbed my camera and changed the lens to my macro, slipped the SD card in and ran back up to the garden. To my delighted surprise, the butterfly hadn't budged! I was so excited, I half-blindly flipped the dial to what I thought was my usual preference, and started taking pictures. It was drinking from the water that had settled on the leaves As I took photos I got closer and closer till it eventually flew away. Only after I realised that I'd had the settings wrong! Well - I guess that's what I get for being super over-excited and not double checking

I might have been able to achieve a better photo (although with the high-contrast midday light reflecting off the leaves and such a wide dynamic range there was only so much I could have dealt with), nonetheless this was still a beautiful butterfly I had the honour to take pictures of it.

Like the butterfly took the opportunity to get a quick drink from the collection of water on the freshly-sprinkled tree leaves, I took the opportunity to immortalize its presence in my garden
