Both a Mother's Day and Thank You gift to my great aunt, who has been an inspiration and mentor to my art as long as I can remember. She's a professional artist, and my go to when I need help or advice. She does a lot of drawings and paintings of native americans, so I thought a painted pony would be good for her.

In contrast to my past two ponies, I thought I'd do this one in a red theme, which included doing the shading and dark points in sepia instead of paynes grey (not really red, but still warmer than paynes is), and I really like the way it turned out.

Thanks to for showing me how to do the cling wrap trick on the background.

EDIT: This stupid piece never actually made it to my aunt :/ I can't believe this, but i LOST it DX Somewhere between here and California, it got misplaced and no one has seen it since. I am at a loss, how do you just LOSE something like this?? D8
