I heard that to seal in acrylic on clay it's best to use a glaze. Is there a glaze where it dries matte?

Sarudanya In reply to simplymilo [2011-12-15 04:36:33 +0000 UTC]

yes! you can find glossy and mate, I use mate gloss for differents effects on my pieces

How do you make sure the clay doesn't get brittle? Or what do you keep the clay in?
I put mine in a container and it all dried up and I can't form anything.

Hi! sorry for the late reply (school...finals..u_u)
I use a plastic container to save the clay..but just for avoid the dust, I never have the problem of brittle, be sure to used polymer clay that dry only with the oven, there is another kind of clay that dry out with the air and sometimes you need water to work with this clay. Please let me know if you resolve your problem and any doubt I´m here

Do you know if it is possible to use a metal armature in the clay? If yes, what kind of metal?
I'm afraid it will melt when I bake the piece in the oven... ^^"

Sarudanya In reply to Indian-Tribe [2011-08-12 18:47:26 +0000 UTC]

Hi, sorry for the late reply (school u_u)
and it is possible used metal, you can use almost any metal because the mean temperature and time that you need for most polymer clays are not enough to melt metals , the problem is with plastic

Indian-Tribe In reply to Sarudanya [2011-08-13 08:46:41 +0000 UTC]

Ok thank you for your answer.
In the meantime, I did my sculpture and baked it yesterday! (With a metal armature inside!^^)

muchas gracias! vale, cualquier cosa te pregunto :3 btw, dime ignorante pero...

se hornea?
un horno especial?
que tan dificil es pintarlos? (aca solo venden neutra)
que es lo mas facil con lo que puedo empezar? como... muñequitos de practica o algo xD no se, galletas, o pancakes, algo .-. xD [eso si, paciencia! porque son miniaturas y... paciencia -.-U xDDD]

Sarudanya In reply to AliceMason [2011-07-23 02:38:27 +0000 UTC]

AliceMason In reply to Sarudanya [2011-07-23 19:17:17 +0000 UTC]

wat tempiture should u heat the Polymer clay?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sarudanya In reply to inupuppy1412 [2011-03-04 06:31:25 +0000 UTC]

Well is differente for any kind of polymer clay, and also depends of the thickness of the figure, for example for fimo is 130 °C for 20 min for about one inch of thickness. But don´t worry any clay comes with security instructions and the right temperture

I hope this help you

any doubt feel free to ask

I would love to see a tutorial for how you did your Sakura key, or your robot in your deviantion Biru Biru. It intrigues me, they look so well done. Of course, this is all if you'd want to share your secrets for how you made those. I'd understand if you didn't want to.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sarudanya In reply to Piph [2011-03-05 06:01:47 +0000 UTC]

of course! I don´t think that I should save my techniques as a secret because there is somebody that is having a bad time molding clay (I know this because I been there) and sometimes we need a just a little help to practice and with the time create our own techniques to make our own desings n_n

thank you for the suggestion!
