Description
"A forge world held no space for Mordicai's kind, outcasts, scum, desperado's. Colonies of such people lay below Heraion, not enslaved by the Mechanicus, they led a hard life, but in their eyes they were at least free. The colony Mordicai belonged to was in the sewer system that ran below one of the many city sized factories that covered the surface. The colonists still had a proficiency towards technology but did not worship it in the same way as the Mechanicus. Raids were launched on the surface to acquire food and other essential supplies. Mordicai was in his 56th year when one such raid happened, he was tasked with security of the looters. Mordicai was more combat experienced than any other colonist and always had an affinity for gun-play, he considered himself a gunslinger.

The surface excursion went well at first until one of the scavengers stumbled into a techno chapel devoted to the Omnissiah, there in were many tech priests. Within minutes the whole facility was aware of the scavengers and they were meet with extreme prejudice from the Mechanicus Skitarii. However Mordicai had a pretense for survival, after a prolonged engagement with a servitor Mordicai found himself in a mess hall for the human menials. The air in the room was stale and the air hung with depression, the menials did not even notice Mordicai, he quickly rounded the room discarding all of his weapons and equipment and grabbed one of the spare coveralls that hung around the edge of the room. A quick glance at them menials allowed him to release he needed his head shaved as well. After several months of working as a menial Mordicai participated in a technical test for tech apprentices, he scored well above the requirement to be indoctrinated into the priesthood. Mordicai had never cared for anyone but himself, he had not cared that all the colonists were slaughtered and he was most likely the only one left, he also did not care that he was now one of the organisation that performed the act.

During Mordicai's 98th Year he joined the ranks of the Heraion Explorator fleet under the command of Explorator-General Thanos and began to travel the lesser mapped areas of space. Mordicai's body started to be replaced at a quick rate once he started to advance through the ranks of the Explorator sect. During his 111th year he was gravely wounded by a trap during the Exploration of a long lost forge world, losing his left leg and half of his right leg, he choose to then have them completely replaced with bionics. As a reward for reaching the rank of Master Explorator Mordicai had a layer of armor fitted in between his skin and bones. The only words that Thanos ever spoke to Mordicai were "An Explorator must always be prepared" as the armor was being fitted.

Mordicai had never had a purpose other than surviving until he found a tome in the on ship archives of Explorator-General Thanos. A tome that held all of the papers written by Explorator-General Telok on exploration and innovation within technology. The very book itself was heretical, written by a long dead tech-priest that had been deemed too radical. The tome was leather bound and very old, Mordicai could not quite believed such archaic practices had survived this long, much less created by a priest of mars. At first Mordicai did not read the book, the words etched on the front in simple writing enough to give him caution, Eventually Mordicai found the meaning of the proto-gothic phrase, "Nothing on another's Word" Leading to Mordicai reading the tome cover to leathery cover. The principles and thought patterns that were described inside changed Mordicai and gave him a purpose for the first time in his life... Innovation"
