disabling comments because this deviation is quite old.Huhm. So I dunno why I haven't submitted this yet. XD
Anyway. This is my iAnti Maeryn in case any of you don't know.
She's supposed to be summoning up a spell, but it really just looks like she's conjuring up some kind of blizzard...*FAIL*
It was fun though. I was mostly practicing anatomy anyway. I have yet to understand how to make magic look amazing.

great work with the pose and lighting! the smokyness works well for it too, haha but yeah, a little like a snowstorm maybe

Nifty pose with the way her arms are back. The costume design is cool. I like the dark green, the ribbons on the skirt and the thigh-high boots/socks. Her expression is appropriate for a battle as well.
You might consider adding lines on the sleeves over her upper arms to show that the cloth is being stretched up. Also, her chin doesn't *quite* line up with her mouth and nose.
Good drawing though. The pose gives a good sense of action and impending movement.

Bleh. I hate chins for that very reason XD I have a hard time getting the face to line up how I want it. At least I can keep practicing.

The facial features not lining up with the chin properly is one of the (many) glaring errors I see when I look at my old drawings. It's hard to figure out, I think.
But if you're aware you're doing it, that's the first step to fixing it!

you could try out the cliche ball of brilliant energy effect. it just a baseline though, it really doesn't have to be that. ^^

This does look quite well. The pose seems like its difficult but has been done rather well. I thik the blizzard effect is from the whiteness of the magic.

I need to practice drawing guys more. Girls are one thing, but drawing guys well is very important XD. I must be sure to figure out everything I need to about drawing them.
I think the magic needed a slightly different glow to it and maybe a different color. Maybe. I'm not entirely sure myself
