Description A commission test I made to figure out how long a watercolour portrait like this would take me. That's right, I'm planning to open commissions! I only take them this weekend at Comic Con Amsterdam, though, until I feel confident enough to open them up online! If there's any interest, that is..

Wouldn't you have to be more confident to make live commissions at comic con rather than having the time to draw them at your own pace at home? Eitherway, I'm definitely interested!

Haha, you're right. What I meant to say is, I've never really opened commissions online as I never knew what to offer. I feel like my digital painting proces is so different from painting to painting, I just wouldn't be able to make a good estimate how long it would take. Of course I could offer something I don't usually do, like portraits, but then I would need to make a few examples and figure out what kind of workflow I'm gonna use.. It was always too much hassle to really get on with it.

For this convention I went to that trouble because I really really wanted to have a try at commissions on the spot. If I can do that, I surely can handle them online too!

Well plenty of artists list of their own terms of agreement within their commissions, and they can vary quite a lot. I don't think it's at all uncommon for artists to warn others of their inconsistent art style.

Yeah, it can be a bit of a hassle. But why don't you just offer commission examples of what you're already capable of showing off, and just add in the description that you're open for negotiation about any other type of commission as well?

I'm sure you'll gain plenty of potential examples that way in no time at all. :J
