I love this one too, It looked like a mountain in the thumbnail...the dark sky pulled me in, and I liked it more when I saw the tree bark.

I hadn't noticed this one earlier, but not that I did, I have to say it's certainly something special! I really love the dark atmosphere and the feeling of threat eminating from the towering trunk. Good work!

stunning tones and textures here... even in its' demise the fallen gaint is still powerfull the light and shadows play together wonderfully under that dramatic sky

As you can tell by all the comments you're getting on this one, it's fantastic. It'll go in my favorites for certain. The depth of shadows, use of light, perspective, composition - everything comes together here. This is really, really wonderful.
