Yay! I FINALLY did a Gee realism. I tried drawing a realism of him a couple of different times, but I just couldn't get it right now matter how much I tried, he was a total BITCH to get right, but I think I may have captured him a little bit better in this one. It's one of my favorite, more recent images of this beautiful man, so I couldn't resist. I had to draw him, which I did last night when heavy inspiration struck me. Raise Your Voice comes from the song SING and the title is also in the chorus of the song SING. That song has a very profound affect on me because of the many things it represents in such a metaphoric way. A lot of the times I feel like I can't open my mouth and speak my mind because if I do, somebody will judge me for it. This song and listening to Gee speak about it made me realize that I CAN use my voice, and you know what? I have been lately and it might piss somebody off but I don't even care anymore because I've been taught that I should be able to say what I want to say. So, that song made me draw this and I just finished coloring it because I couldn't stay up all night to work on it... lol
Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy it! I thought for certain that I'd burnt myself out on realism and when I first started working on this piece, I was like "OMG I'm so RUSTY!" but I don't think it turned out half bad! Anyway, Gerard Way from the band My Chemical Romance, ladies and gents.

Gosh that's beautiful! I love the expression, and what a lovely neck! The colors are fantastic too, the lights and shadows on the skin -- extremely amazing!!! And his eyes are gorgeous. And I love the song Sing too, it's definitely one of my favorites.

I always wanted to know what is the different between doing a real sketch and anime style of drawing. So thank you so much for telling me how you did with realism art and anime art

Well, I'm glad I could fill you in a little bit! When sketching though, the realism probably takes more time to sketch than an anime sketch because of all the stuff you gotta work on and shade and get right. With an anime sketch, you just basically sketch it out and make the proportions as proper as you can. With a realism, there's much more detailing in the sketch. However, the sketching is the best part! I LOVE to sketch. I have so many sketches that I've never colored lol.

I know that realism must be hard to sketch, I mean I see that drawing a real person is definitely harder than anime characters. I feel like a carton character is just a carton and a real human has so many thing to focus on while sketching.

No, I don't have them all uploaded to DA lol. I don't want to upload my sketches. Main reason being is because a lot of it is just practice stuff like practicing body proportions, using lots of guidelines. The sketches are pretty messy and not really all that cleaned up. Some are half finished and some I don't really like how they turned out, so I scrapped them. I try and make it a point to clean up my sketches as best as I possibly can once I have one done and ready to color, but most of my stuff is just stored away in a big sketchbook or I have a few folders full of sketches that I've done, just to pass the time and practice and play with art.

Nah lol. I used to post my sketches, but I don't think many saw them, so I don't really worry about posting them anymore. I'm kinda OCD about my gallery lol.
