Aran Laer is the Sindarin for Summer King. This is the one scene I sorely missed in BOTFA, where Bilbo says he's sorry to have drunk so much Thranduil's wine and eaten his food and makes him a gift of a necklace of silver and pearls. Still holding out hope for editor's cut though.Paper, watercolours, beads.

Yep. This and the funeral scene were sorely missed. Though, I'm at least happy the extended will have the funeral. ^^

Beautiful as always! The details look so fragile and intricate… I also love how plants and greenery seemingly sprout up around Thranduil, it gives him an even more otherworldly look.
(I do wonder; isn't this kind of artwork very hard to store? I mean, with the relief and everything, isn't it hard to make sure it stays in one piece?)

Thank you! I'm so glad you noticed the sprouting part! I've read it in a number of fanfictions and I really love this idea how wood elves have some kind of affinity with greenery and they can make flowers bloom as they go and I was going for this effect )) I'm so happy to hear it shows!
It's actually rather sturdy, provided that I don't use something very fragile. I glue it all together using very tough but transparent superglue and it usually stays, like STAYS. If I use something very fragile, like flower parts - they are usually dried specially, then I either paint over them, so that they don't lose colour, but the texture remains, or spray they with hairspray - it also helps to keep the colours and make them less fragile.
Well, a couple of them even survived being sent in a mail.

мимими, спасибо, друг мой! Жамкать, на самом деле, очень легко - я просто мажу большой кусок бумаги, на которое все собирается, клеем, по контуру, а потом прикладываю вот эту тоненькую гофрированную бумагу и размазываю ее по тому же контуру.
На ногах у Бильбо кукольные волосы )))
