a bit rugged, unruly and energetic. Her adopted father played rough with her as a child. She does have an elegant side, but usually only when performing. She's a spunky little monkey who loves to meet and talk to people. She's also far too trusting for a blind girl. Everyone, in Carmen's eye, in innocent until proven guilty. She portrays herself as very secure with herself as a person, because she's never had a reason not to be, but she does have a deep hiding level of insecurity and fear of vulnerability. She's lovable and affectionate, being especially tactile. A jack of many traits, she'd both an introvert and an extrovert, loving social environments, but can immediately and spontaneously shut down in crowded areas. She loves to get lost in books and literature and spends a lot of her time in the library and the books store if she's not at the circus. Full of Wanderlust.
Back Story

On the night of August 1st, a baby girl was born to a humble innkeeper and his wife, a circus performer. They'd met years before, fallen in love, and eloped.
Carmen was a happy and healthy child, full of energy and a love for exploration. Surrounded by love and lots of family in the circus, Carmen loved to be around people. Carmen was 3 years old when she accidentally knocked over a body of lye onto her face from the kitched counter and lost her sight. Her parents we devastated and blamed themselves harshly, yet Carmen didn't. It slowed her down in earlier years, but she learned to adjust. She was taught to read braille at the age of five. She taught herself how to find her way around a room, using her hands and other senses to guide her. Despite her lack of vision, she still insisted on learning how to do the many tricks and arts her mother knew. She was determined to be in the circus someday too. She was a versatile little child, and highly adaptable. That was put to the test when she was ten; when a terribly ferry accident killed her parents, leaving her alone.
Luckily for Carmen, the circus folk looked out for their own, so a friend of Carmen's mother took Carmen in. It was hard at first and there were often times sadness overwhelmed her, but as time went on, she found other things to focus on. When she was twelve, she paid more attention to all the sounds at the circus and what stuck out to her the most was the sound made when a trick was performed flawlessly. The sound of the performer's pride and the sound of the audience's awe combined had Carmen determined to produce the same effect. So, she began truly practicing tricks. At first, It nearly discouraged her but she soon received many helping hands by the circus folk, all eager to assist and teach. Especially the hands of Elliot Durand. The young man, who was somewhat of a troubled youth, took Carmen under her wing, for reasons Carmen never understood at the time. But the two were inseparable, and Carmen loved him deeply, quickly.
Many years of practicing has turned Carmen into a talented circus performer. In fact, she soon became a crowd favorite at the age of sixteen. People began to travel from all over just to see the blind circus performer. How did she do it? Was it all a trick? One had to come and see to find out, and Carmen, even after all this time, still enjoys pleasing the audience with amazing feats.

Where to find her

If she's not at the big top practicing, she's out around Serseri, remapping. Things change, but she never wants to miss them. She spends a lot of time in the library, constantly checking in and out books. She also loves to explore the woods and map those as well. Either that, or under the arm of Elliot Durand.

Fun facts

Her mother, Imogen Ramone, was an orphan picked up by the circus in her youth. She was well known and also known for being quite the social girl (and a flirt). She was a wild one who loves the thrill of life and adventure. Carmen's father, Cameron Ramone (originally Parrish) was the son of a family of innkeepers from Nomie. The two met on a random night in Nomie when several Serseri youths opted to go to Nomie to cause some trouble. After that, the two met again in Serseri, where Cameron was prompty woo'd by this Circus Vixen, and was immediately sprung. He began trying to court her, much to the disgust and horror of his family when they discovered who this harlot was. But eventually, Cameron won Imogen's heart, and the two eloped. Cameron left Nomie, and when they married, took his bride's name. Imogen matured a lot from that point.

Carmen had a little bit of an obessive streak with new hobbies. When she gets into something, she will lose a lot of sleep spending hours working on rooting herself deeply into the thing she's taken interest in.

Surprisingly, Carmen is a good cook. She's not amazing with presentation, but her nose and palette make her quite the pro and pinpointing what needs to happen to make a dish excellent.

Elliot has rubbed off on her over the years. So even though she's a sweet and loving girl, who understands personal space-- she's a little bit of a vixen, herself. When she has an interest in someone, she'll be quite forward in flirtation and her intentions~

Was adopted by Marcus Long, a strong man in the circus who was to Imogen what Elliot is to Carmen.
