Description

Despite an aquatic existence, Beldiver are poor swimmers and instead dwell at the bottom of off-shore reefs. Their bones are very dense and allow them to stay at the sea floor whilst searching nooks and crannies for shellfish, their favourite food. Should they find a pearl or other treasure on their travels they tend to stash it away somewhere safe.
Scudiver are thought to have descended from freshwater amphibians as whilst they possess gills they are unable to properly tolerate salt-water, despite being sea-going pokemon. As such, when far out to sea they will use their back mounted lungs to draw air from the surface, instead of trying to breathe the damaging salt-water all around them.
