Description I wanted to just sit down, get an idea and then make something in the same night like I used to.

This was done in about two and a half hours total, between scenebuilding and editing.

Metroid: Fusion was the first Metroid game I ever played, and also the first time I'd ever been scared by a video game. When I first ran into the SA-X I remember I had to put my Gameboy down for a little while before I could finally pick it back up and keep going through. The sheer sense of dread I had playing through that game knowing that this entity was out there, somewhere in the game world, waiting for me, is something I still haven't really experienced. This piece aims to pay homage to a particular moment where you have to jump over a wall and duck behind it so the SA-X can't find you.

Scene set in Garry's Mod, edited in Photoshop

The SA-X is still one of the scariest enemies in video games for me. I love horror games, I adore horrific monsters, but there's something about being chased by what is essentially you but without any sort of humanity that just freaks me out, even if her design is so tame

The SA-X was one of the first enemies in a video game that made the game so tense I had to stop playing. That's a hard memory to beat, and frankly I think I may just do some more with this theme just to really pay tribute to how awesome of an enemy that one really was.
