So yeah... this is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY overdue (along with my part of a trade which is ALMOST done!Here is Grace Talbot and William Seraphin - 's wonderful and mysterious characters from her novel 'When Seraphin Fall'. This was actually for a contest I wanted to do way back in February but the demends of my job got the better of my best intentions.... and time LOL!
HOWEVER, I had a real blast drawing these two and I would totally do it again! I love the setting, time period, and the broodingly mysterious love story. I seriously hope I did them justice as they are right up my alley of subjects I love to draw!

I love it!!! The tension between these two is electric!!! It almost looks as though they're about to turn and either argue or snog!
I really love the way you've drawn Grace's hair- it's spot on! So long, full and luxurious! Also the bodice of her gown is soo pretty and era- appropriate! The contrast between the icy blue of her gown and the rich, mulberry red of her shawl is beautiful.
I also really like the fact that you've included the poison bottle in her hand...or is it..?
I love the tortured doubt on Will's face- it's very Darcy-esque! Plus he looks soo handsome in your style! And that hair!! So golden- like a lions mane!
I also love all the arches and gothic architecture in the background, the lighting is cold and suggests dust, abandonment and cobwebs- so wonderfully gothic.

I'm always nervous when drawing other people's characters, but it's nice to get their feedback in the end and know that they turned out just fine.

AHHH omg, it's so nice to finally see the finished version of this picture! Will and Grace look so amazing in your style. I love the way you did Grace's hair (it's her trademark lol) and her mysterious half-smile, while Will really looks angsty and is probably thinking about how/what he's going to do next and what sort of situation he's in...haha, typical, he really doesn't know what to do, particularly since he's getting more and more intrigued by Grace although he feels like he shouldn't be.
The blurred background really makes these two stand out. I love the way you blur backgrounds but don't make it entirely smooth (like you did here with the grain).

THANK YOU!!! I hope she likes it. Grace's hair was soooooo much fun to draw! From her descriptions and paintings, I felt like I could go crazy since I love me a beautiful mane! William is a joy to draw! I liked having to get out of my comfort zone and color BLONDE HAIR! I rarely do that and I hope it didn't come out too bright LOL! But he's a great character - I really like him!
The background was a challenge and ate most of my time on this! I'm happy you like it!!!

Brilliant, I love the sneaky hint of that bottle. Poison or just...you know, perfume a lady carries around. I like his suspicious look (but also looks like he's pretending not to be interested ha ha), the background is also a great touch.

With William, I just channeled how I act around guys I like or think are hot.... I wanna look but NO don't! Oh maaaan he's probably a jerk but - NOPE! don't make eye contact!!! SHOOT he saw me! *slides under the table with drink in hand*
