*snickers* The book wasn't as interesting as the movie! Though depending on what his vision is like,
he's probably wondering why the movie is looking a little weird, forgetting that he's wearing his glasses.

The book was about culinary arts, so it wasn't very interesting to read but must be done. He can see both since his glasses have progressive lens.

In that case, it owuldn't need to be a super interesting movie - anything would
have been a huge improvement on the book!
