Second attempt at pencil shading. Yesterday was just a head. Today I tried a whole pony.Related content

It's a bit light, but he looks pretty good whether or not he's a bit lanky. Also the pose adds a lot of character, showing that there's more going on and hinting at a little story. What caught his attention and made him rear back for a little safety? Maybe we'll never know, but it's really fun to think about the possibilities. At the very least he needs to be careful not to back into anything pointy.

I probably could have digitally contrasted it a bit, but there isn't a huge amount of tone difference just because I only had a boring No. 2 pencil to work with. Although I may see about acquiring some actual art pencils and learning to due pencil shading and texturing for real.

You made snails look like a character I can be with without wanting to break his neck! That's not an easily feat too!

I just wanted to say.. this is adorable <3 I don't' normally like snails, but I think you did really good on him here. I think my favorite part is the hair on the back of his neck <3
