I'm on a Pokémon fanart roll, ladies! Sorry about this, but this is what you're going to be seeing for a good while. I don't know if I'm going to make this a 'big' series [the '
okémon alley' theme, I mean] but we'll see!I'm working on other, non-poké related pieces aswell but I haven't bothered to get off my ass and photograph/scan them. I KNOW, NOT BECOMING OF AN ARTIST.
ANYWAY: this is piece one in a small series of Pokémon fanworks depicting the odd little creatures hanging out in street alleys. These particular works were inspired by tatty, geeky memories of one of the Pokémon films in which Brock rants on about 'DUH WUNDURS OF POGIEMAHNS!11'.
Anyway, the important thing about said rant was that you got to see glimpses of a myriad of different Pogies all living in their own different habitats, both natural and synthetic. One of the habitats shown was a street alley where all these 'rough' Pokémon like Voltorb and Koffing lived. It always stuck with me for some reason: I even drew a piece similar to this as a wee scales based on the aforementioned little clip!

The Saffron one has a sense of loving family, a group kind of the mafia sorta it has a good feel to it, and is easily seen in it's art.
I think this one is a little harder to understand, what I'm getting from the picture is that they are stray pokemon that are a close packed group maybe. I personally would like this more if it were raining, but it's great without.

Does the Saffron one really have that kind of feel to it? That's interesting because I only doodled it on a whim. 
I dunno; I reckon rain would have been a bit cliché, personally. Stray kittens, rain; pretty tried and tested. I kind of like how the light shines in on the alley as if like is all dandy for everyone in the mainstreets while the lil' abandoned Pogies in the backstreets only get hit with the odd ray of reflected light.
That being said that's horrifically clichéd too, so maybe the rain would have worked far better. Thanks for the suggestion either way! It's great to hear this kind of thing.
