Some interesting toons come out of France sometimes. This is from the animated adaptation of the Valerian and Laureline sci-fi comic. Known as Time Jam for English speaking markets. Laureline is a woman removed from her era (the middle ages), who joins Valerian as a spacetime agent. Probably pretty obscure if you're not from France, but Laureline is a cute redhead in her animated form, so I acted on it.A feature film version is coming out next year from Luc Besson (Leon, The Fifth Element).

Never watched the anime, but the series by Mezières & Christin remains one of my all-time BD-favorites.
...maybe that version might've interested me more, nevertheless its really well-drawn & colored!

You're always full of surprises, scamwich! Β It's refreshing to see a character from the world of bande-dessinΓ©e being under the spotlight for once. There are so many characters from European comic books and animation that deserve wider recognition among the Anglo community and I'm so glad you decided to do exactly that for this piece!

Few guys do what you do best, which aside from your black belt in coloring, is that blessed way you blend the elements of your signature style with the source material's techniques. I've never heard of the show but I can already piece together an idea of its style just by studying this one. Even your linework is a little different. Awesome piece and thanks for that hefty and healthy rump-shot!

Yup, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. Based on the comic version anyway. I know those Fifth Element fans will be looking out for that one.

I remember watching a trailer for this series on Youtube! If I remember correctly, in one clip, Laureline actually puts an alien in a headlock!
