Wanted to practice: Action dynamics, character motion, anatomy, and perspective.

So I started sketching another one of Hekkenda's sisters, the 2nd oldest and the one before Hekkenda, Satomi Hisakata Fukurou. She is the current leader of the Fukurou generation, they select leaders by generations instead of waiting till one dies. Their mother was the leader before, but she's chose to go the mother route those she is still a monster in combat. The Fukurou only select female leaders because it is the female who is fated to carry a child till it's born, so this is reason for that. The males are often selected for Military leaderships, adviser roles, etc.

Anywho unlike her older sister Soyokaze Hisakata = platinumscarab.deviantart.com/… , who uses shaolin chain whip with ball and chain (Forgot to mention that lol). Satomi isn't so much a power house, she can slash through layers of metal armor, but when it comes to full out power Hekkenda and Soyokaze topple her. Satomi however is Speed and Form, her motions and slashes all move in one flow like that of a river without ripples.

She only uses one sword which is actually 3 swords, which can only be out one at a time and need to be sheathed and drawn again in order for it to change. (Kinda my homage to Muramasa and The Demon Blade) The three blade types:

Nagamaki: The nagamaki was a long sword with a blade that could be 2 feet or more and a handle that about equal length to the blade. The blade was single-edged and it could resemble a naginata blade, but the main difference in how the blades were mounted was that the handle (tsuka) of the nagamaki was not a simple wooden shaft as in the naginata; it was made more like a katana hilt. Even the name "nagamaki" ("long wrapping") is given by the tradition of handle wrapping. The nagamaki handle was wrapped with leather or silk cords in criss-crossed manner, very similar to the wrapping that is made on katana.

Katana: A general term for the traditional sword with a curved blade around two to three shaku long, worn with the edge upwards in the Obi.

Wakizashi: The wakizashi has a blade between 30 and 60 cm (12 and 24 in) with wakizashi close to the length of a katana being called o-wakizashi and wakizashi closer to tanto length being called ko-wakizashi. The wakizashi being worn together with the Katana was the official sign that the wearer was a samurai or swordsman of feudal Japan. When worn together the pair of swords were called daisho, which translates literally as "big-little"

Only difference is that the blade's edges are shaped like a saw or flame, with holes in the blade to reduce wind resistence. The hilt is always on fire because the sword is a possessed blade. Because of the blade being a possessed sword it caused Satomi hair to stain white and her eyes pink as seen in the colored head shot here : platinumscarab.deviantart.com/… . There is the soul of a warlord convicted on the battlefield bound to her, together the soul can sync with Satomi's so that they do double the damage, in her phantom trails or it can possess her giving her an extra hand. There are many Fukurou with possessed weapons all their hair turns white for the most part, but the souls bound to these weapons are atonements so that the soul can cleanse it's karma in it's service. The only risk is that the Fukurou can become demons if they slip.

Satomi being quick as she is, she is capable of making sharp turns to a point if you took a snap shot she would be only inches off the ground. She is 24 of age and is hot headed given names can piss her off a little easy sometimes. as you can see with the sake gord strapped to her ankles 4 on each leg, she likes to drink and even has a mean drunken sword style. Her and Hekkenda butt heads the most, but it's all sibling love. It's her odd way to make sure he develops into a strong man and not a wimp who wouldn't be able to protect his wife. Which she is guilty of interrogating females around her first brother. She tends to enjoy hunting and the sound her sword makes cutting through limbs and other materials. Which when in battle every 100 troops killed counts as a new tattoo, since foot soldiers don't count like an Officer, General, Commander, etc. A Fukurou with the most tattoo's lets you know their battle experience on top of the scars since they don't like medical attention.

Anywho Just sketching, kinda in a coloring block/rut. (Laziness kicking in from all the detail LOL) So I'm sketching myself out of it. So enough of me talking about it and more of you enjoying the art. Lol. Pose inspired by various artist who capture moving action
