The dark clouds roiled above and she thought she caught the distant rumblings of thunder above the roaring wind. Inigo and Kirratchiaq caught up to her and the slate roan, moving closer together as they sought some reprieve. Elkay moved up to the edge, studying it with twisting motions of his head, then took off with a chirrup. The other tokotas didn’t hesitate, following the long mane onto a winding trail down the slope and towards shelter.
