Description I have been in love with marine biology for as long as I can remember, which of course means I have a soft spot in my head heart for mermaids. Then along comes one of my favorite artists, Chris Sanders and his fantastic wife, Jessica Steele-Sanders, with the book Rescue Sirens. It's unique, fun, and just great storytelling. Best of all, I can share it with my daughter, who is 10. There aren't many books you can do that with.

So this is Maris, a very chic Rescue Siren. She's my first piece of art with a new batch of alcohol markers. I don't have a lot of colors yet, but luckily I had the right ones for her. She just makes me happy!

Definitely put it on your reading list--somewhere near the top. I'm 32 and I adore it. My daughter is 11 and she loves it. So I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that it's great for all ages.

I'm so glad you like it!   I really, really hope there are many sequels to come, because I love this world of Rescue Sirens and I can't wait to draw more fan art. My daughter also loves the book, and she's at that awkward phase in reading where she can do it well but doesn't really enjoy longer stories yet--and this one has her hooked (pun intended)! So thank you!!!
