Description

The rain began to pour with a vengeance as the band of Apple Jack, Twilight and Pinkie Pie faded into the dim and the gloom. Their chase of the demented and unrecognizable figure of Flash faded away in the sudden wash of rain, the thunder rumbled overhead so loudly CopperTune couldn't hear their hooves across the grass anymore. But she didn't care, all her focus was on one thing, on that one, awful, horrifyingly crumbled, burned and bloodied figure of Rainbow Dash lying in a heap among the grass.

"R-rainbow!" The name barely made it past her lips, it sounded more like a strangled cry than a name. Her hooves skidded across the sudden slick of the grass as she jumped through the strands toward the downed mare, struggling to a stop beside her and her heart crashing into her stomach at the sight of so much blood. Crimson that broke across the usually cyan blue and muddied it an awful, blue-brown color. CopperTune's breath caught in her throat, she could smell feathers burning, and see the awkward angel Rainbow's left wing fell around her battered body, the mare's rose colored gaze moving her way weakly, trembling and breathing harshly- CopperTune could see her body shuddering underneath the breaths.

"...s...she..." Rainbow's voice was lost to the drone and rumble of the lightning that crashed overhead, the storm worsening by the second and unnaturally fast.

CopperTune felt the tears slide down her cheeks and she stood riveted, her heart dropping to her hooves and her breathing ceasing altogether.

Rainbow hadn't wanted to believe it... and CopperTune desperately wanted to do the same.

"...F..... Flash did this...?" She whispered, the words cracking slightly- along with her heart.

She tried... she tried to kill Rainbow Dash... she can't have....

"...... C.. copper...." This time CopperTune heard Rainbow hiss the words, her eyes flashing as she bent her head to the rainbow-maned mare.

"H-hush, Rainbow. You're too hurt to be talking, just... just try and stay still. We'll get you fixed up, I promise.... just... just stay awake...ok..?" She swallowed hard to try and steady herself, but CopperTune could feel her legs start to shake, she felt cold.... utterly cold.

All of them.... they've all..... become so.....

She stiffened, her heart racing anew as it hit her that the one pony who could handle Healing Magic (to which Rainbow clearly needed) wasn't... Mercy had....

..... they've all become so.... evil.

H...how...?

What am I going to do...?

".... F...flash...." Rainbow hissed, her eyes dropping quickly and her voice with it.

"... h...her Cutie Mark..... it... w...was black."

In the Elements of War Universe in which my Mane 6 Elements of War/Peace have fallen victim to a foul Magic that twisted them and turned them into somewhat 'nightmare' versions of themselves. CopperTune it the only one out of the 6 who hasn't fallen to the Magic- as it latches on via a ponies Cutie Mark, and since CopperTune doesn't have one, she was spared.

But she had no clue how to save her friends, and the sheer, horrible things they start doing is enough to make her want to curl up and hide- but she won't.

Will continue this, slowly.
