i was awesome, i had only just got into photography so most of photos were not that great. I just wish i could go up again now with what i know now

well it was almost at the Boom. I managed to get a ride in a KC-135R on a refueling sortie, amazing view out the back, we refueled 18 F-16s that day.

thanks for that, i have got a few more of these shots. I cant believe i never posted it on Pilots before i posted other stuff, it only come to me today that one of the better aviation shots (for being an unusual view) that i think i have taken so far i have not put on there.

well i can assure you he was there, he did wave but as i went to look thru my camera he stopped - now that would have been a shot!

I don't ever think I've seen a refueler trying to refuel an F-16 at ground level either, and I don't think I've ever seen either bird hover so someone could stand on a ladder and snap a picture.

Looks like a tricky operation and quite an experience. Looks like you used a high ISO setting. Guess you had to with the vibrations going on up there. Take a look at [Neat Image ]. It does a good job of getting rid of grain and it's free for non-commercial use.

i was using print film back then, so yeah, it was a touch grainy. Thanks for the link, i will check it out!

no i am not at Mildenhall, i had a friend there an managed to get a rid on one of the tankers - awesome or what! Yes the F-16 is Belgian, we received 18 that day.

yea that is one h*** of a shot man, very clean. I'm amazed by how they can get such crisp clean shots when the tankers are not known for their smooth rides.
