Description yeah yeah, i know that's NOT the kind of incision that's made in an autopsy, so don't bother pointing that out. i wanted a huge torso-splitting gash straight up the sternum, cause i'm that kinda guy.

anyway, stock from: ~xample-stock and *Blood--Stock

room texture and body texture: my own

and sorry about the title. first thing that came to mind, heh.

I just wanna know how it was done.
I really love this, it gives me all sorts of ideas about how i'm gonna request to be split open at my autopsy after my overdose.

It reminds me of the body of Robert Paulson in 'Fight Club'. (I know it was his head that was open, but his head hung over the table while the brains spilled out.) I saw that movie for the first time on Saturday. My husband hated it and I thought it probably one of the most brilliant movies I have ever seen. I wonder if you have seen it and what you think?

i was actually thinking of that a tiny bit when i did the pose haha. great movie, you'll love it more with time (i think)

I loved it and immediately (like one of my kids) wanted to watch it again to see it in light of the ending. My husband hated it! Intense reaction mean a movie has a big message, to me. What other movies do you like?

have you seen Shawshank Redmption, Secret of Roan Inish, Love Actually, or County Clare? The first 2 are my all time faves and the last are new favorites.

The new Rocky is good ... it felt like visiting an old friend.

Shawshank Redemption is a great movie. haven't seen the others

scaryjesus In reply to faeriecrone [2007-01-22 23:23:53 +0000 UTC]

i thought that very same same thing. (it's the way the head hangs over the edge for sure) that spat/splash of blood and brains hitting the floor stuck with me for a long time.

i'm glad you seen that movie, cause it's one of the best movies ever made, in my opinion. (another is "americian history: x", PLEASE tell me you've seen that one)

funny thing tho, originally i had his head open too (i used a broken eggshell) but i thought too much trauma to the head would take away attention from the massive gash in his chest. so i trashed that idea, and instead gouged the eyes a bit and slit up his mouth and lips.

...wow, i'm so charming. bahahahaha!

faeriecrone In reply to scaryjesus [2007-01-22 23:30:03 +0000 UTC]

no, I have not seen that movie ... who is in it?

only someone in the medical profession could read your comment, after a big shrimp stir fry dinner, and be unfazed.

eggshell ... clever.

you;re not into abstracts,, are you?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

scaryjesus In reply to faeriecrone [2007-01-22 23:41:52 +0000 UTC]

oh. my. god.

honey, drop what you're doing right now, and go rent it. i promise you, you will LOVE it.

it's another movie with edward norton. (mr. fight club himself, heh) the best role i've ever seen him in. (and i'm sure you won't mind looking at him either, he trained like a fiend to get in shape for the role)

if i haven't peaked your interest on this one enough already, then have a look here: [link] it's cinematic perfection.

and shrimp stir fry?! i'm coming over!! (i love sea food)

as for abstracts, i can't say i am. i think all those 'stare-at-it-long-enough-and-you'll-see-something' things ruined it for me.

faeriecrone In reply to scaryjesus [2007-01-23 00:21:28 +0000 UTC]

OK! let's be clear ... those hidden picture things from the 90s were NOT abstract art. have you ever seen mine? it's an evolving thing for me but I promise there isn't a piggy bank or a copper penny hidden in it.

I will check out the movie. Have you seen Shawshank Redemption? That's my all time fave. Well, that and "Secret of Road Inish" *and* "Love Actually".

scaryjesus In reply to faeriecrone [2007-01-23 00:51:56 +0000 UTC]

lol! sarry, when i see abstract art, that's right where my mind goes. i'm like, is there an elephant in there?

maybe you can help me de-program my mind from this?

and yes to shawshank. love that movie. tho i haven't see the other two.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

faeriecrone In reply to scaryjesus [2007-01-23 00:55:01 +0000 UTC]

yea, no one else has seen the other two, either it seems. one is Irish, one British.

erm ... look at my work and we can talk ... about the abstracts ... I'm not trying to convert you. I was actually curious to know if you watched me and hated my stuff so you never commented or if it was just me who watches your stuff.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

scaryjesus In reply to faeriecrone [2007-01-23 00:59:22 +0000 UTC]

i dont hate your stuff at all. just that, abstract makes me tilt my head a little, and go? 'ahwa?'

and i thought i had you on my watch list! gah!! must fix!

(then i gotta go to work, they called me in early tonight, those punks)

Ooo! there's an idea for sure! maybe a collaboration? we could call it, 'scarycrone', or 'faeriejesus', hehe.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

faeriecrone In reply to scaryjesus [2007-01-24 00:54:19 +0000 UTC]

sounds like fun! ( but, isn't scary implied in the term crone? or am I losing my touch?)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

scaryjesus In reply to faeriecrone [2007-01-25 00:37:09 +0000 UTC]

hehe, yeah, tis implied. whenever i hear the word 'crone', i think of the witch in the kevin costner movie 'robin hood'. now SHE was scary.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

faeriecrone In reply to scaryjesus [2007-01-25 01:31:21 +0000 UTC]

I love that movie ... one of my favorite love-to-hate-him actors is in it. Snape from Harry Potter is the Sheriff of Nottingham. He's in Love Actually, also and Quigley Down Under. He is always a bad guy and, I suspect, not a nice guy otherwise! Or he's a great actor.

That was a witch, not a crone. They are not synonymous. In old lore, witch is a shortening of wise woman (who was usually an herb woman) but now it seems to mean any variety of things. (The term 'wicca' or 'wiccan was only coined in the past century and I do not like it or use it.)

So, because I make herbal medicine I guess I would be a witch.

Are you saying I am not scary?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

scaryjesus In reply to faeriecrone [2007-01-25 02:49:18 +0000 UTC]

oh he is a great actor. plays a very good bad guy indeed. he's got that 'look'

and i know she was a witch and not a crone. her name was "Crone" in the movie.

you make herbal medicine?? that's awesome! how difficult is that?

and i'm sure you can be scary. i just hope i never give you a reason to prove that to me, hehe.

faeriecrone In reply to scaryjesus [2007-01-25 13:00:51 +0000 UTC]

I am probably scary when I think I am only being fierce. It usually happens when I think someone I love is hurt and I can fix it. So, no worries.

Herbals are not hard to make. I think it matters the spirit of the person doing it, though so ... it is more than chemistry.
