Added 3/14/09Here's a Spike, those little spike-ball throwing bastards from SMB3.
I don't know HOW they hork up those balls. They're bigger then they are! XP
They're kinda cute, though.
(and he doesn't look like a demented duck like the Clubba did. XD )

I'd imagine its an exposure thing. Egg stays nice and tiny in an organ located near the gut. Stress causes contractions that force the egg up toward the mouth. As egg leaves mouth it comes in contact with the air and a chemical reaction causes it to grow and develope thorny growths. Spike then takes now large and thorny egg and hurls it like a shotput, plumbers running for their lives insues.
