I have a simple question.
It's looks as if all of these guys is the same person, so is it himself bringing him down?
If it is, a powerful way to show it. I struggle with myself all the time. Sad really.

Nope. I'm a cheap bastard, so no prints for me
Besides these all are photographs of actual drawings. I don't have a scanner, so we can say "bye" to high resolution.

I need a better camera, got any suggestions? All my pictures are pretty much huge, and the camera ends up taking really bad pictures, no mattter how much lighting I have.

Well, I take pictures with what I have.
Nikon D70s + 50 mm lens, but its only worth it if you're a photographer.

The way they are tied up all together makes me uncomfortable. That is a good thing, however. If i don't have some kind of reaction to art, i don't remember it! Your work always gets a reaction from me.

It is haunting, suffocating.....excellent!!

It is good to see you have returned and that you are creating again!

Fantastic! The calm, persistent expression of the "leeches" is very unsettling in comparison the trauma and desperation on the face of the swamped figure. The technical aspect is pretty stunning and I really admire your technique with the shading here - especially on the pointed elbow on the right hand side near the top, where you've blocked off the shadowed area.

The allowence of commenting. Ah how I've missed it.

Anyways; fighting with your inner demons? Hmmm... I like how the middle one looks so enraged and passionate; while the ones holding him back look so stoic in comparrison.

Ahhh! I remember this series I like both interpretations (struggling against demons within, and those who feed on you from without), but what I really like is your line work. I've missed it!! --AG

This has an animal/cannibal feel, parasites feeding/draining ... the darker side of human interaction ... glad you feel like allowing comments ... they don't really matter that much do they???

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

scatterherz In reply to SalHunter [2005-08-02 11:28:07 +0000 UTC]

I believe I meant it to be an interpretation of human's inner life, fights with inner demons, but I like your interpretation too.

Oh I was just pissed at those who said my art was like Tool videos.

SalHunter In reply to scatterherz [2005-08-02 12:06:54 +0000 UTC]

Um I think your art has a lot more impact than that hehehe, I get pissed when my drawings are likened to Dali ...
I like your idea of inner demons and that really fits ... it seems equally open to be read both ways which is no bad thing at all!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

scatterherz In reply to SalHunter [2005-08-02 12:49:46 +0000 UTC]

Oh Dali.. yes, I got some of those comments too.. Dammit, as if Dali was the only surreal artist ever!

I like it when people interpret my art in their own way, makes me feel it was worth it, if people can find their own meaning behind things that I draw.

SalHunter In reply to scatterherz [2005-08-02 14:18:06 +0000 UTC]

I agree! I also find that in the process of creating a drawing, I may have many things in my subconscious that contribute to the drawing that I don't consciously see until someone else points it out ... funny that ... a feeling that I am not what I think perhaps?
