Just in case someone asks:yes, that is Trixie.iΒ΄d really love some critique on this one, as i am unsure about a lot of things here.
I suck on so many levels.
This is also my first piece of 2015. Yay!
May it be many more, if my studies allow for that.
UPDATE: i screwed around with the lighting a bit more, since i feel like it is too dark.

I absolutely love the lighting and composition.
I have only 2 little criticisms to make:
- The left part of the image shouldn't be so dark
- The tree foliage is a little off, I'd prefer to be able to see the leaves instead of blurry shapes. Don't hesitate to use photo references and a different brush.

Yeah, the foreground is a bit too dark. But I also feel that the castle is out of perspective, but that might just be me.

Definitely my favorite piece of this week, if not this month. Love the mix of cartoon and realistic styleβthis is what I probably want to do myself. Love the fairy tale feel you have accomplished. Love the composition (dark corners, established foreground, middleground, and background). The color palette reminds me of Gravity Falls for some reason.
Sorry, canβt point you at things you can work towards, since Iβm just a newbie. Keep up the great work and donβt ever tell you suck! Only compare your newest piece with your previous one to see how youβve improved, and donβt compare your work with someoneβs else, since theyβve worked hard to build their skills. This is just my humble opinion of course.

i actually think that composition is one of my weakest points, but i need some people who are better than me to tell me what i am doing wrong :/

Remarkable work! You don't have the right to say "I suck on so many levels", not with this outstanding quality. I understand some artists like to expect more from themselves (me all the time, lol). But you did great with this. I'd only say that the area around Trixie is low on contrast.
Other than that, great work!

i really appreciate it when other people try to cheer me up, but i guess i am just too far away of what i want to do with my art, the direction that i want to go.
i am kind of dealing with some personal issues at the moment, but i guess i shouldnΒ΄t "let my frustration out" on other people

Oooh, I love the old-timey medieval feeling! This looks like it could be part of a book or a video game, with a nice voiceover.

Some tips
1. The flags on the castle are almost in synch.
2. What is that fence doing on top of that rock?
3. There's rock mixed with the dirt on the right, But it doesn't look right, It almost seems like their bricks.
That's pretty mutch everything.... But overall it's a really stunning picture!

Oh i love this one, such a nice, soft colours, and not a single unnecessary line, i wish one day i would be able to draw like this.
About critiques (don't be harsh with my terrible english :Π·):
-Lights mostly perfect, but Trixie looks much more lighted than environment, like she is made of unpolished metal. A bit softer glare on the edges on the frontal and right side would be great (since left side is lighted with additional light source its okay).
-I'm can't figure it, but castle perspective looks a bit wrong, maybe more skilled artist could explain what exactly.
-You tend to parallel lines. Mushroom caps, road, 2 cliffs above, saplings tops forms 6 almost parallel lines, it is not bad at all, but may make composition looks unnatural.

i am not sure about the castle perspective, though. it should be right. maybe you are referring to atmospheric perspective, since the way i colored it, it could look like it is too far in the back. (?)

You suck on so many levels ??? I would definitely have to say I disagree and I would agree with Vixen I do think with where the sun is it could have been lighter though I do like how dark it is it just would have been better that dark were the sun just peaking over the top of the castle I think

Not sure if you were referring to the original piece before Sceathlet updated it, but I like how dark the foreground is at this point. It makes a nice contrast with the sky and gives a lovely fairy tale vibe.
