I wonder if itΒ΄s really pre-christian tradition (celtic, given the area of the custom), that survived in the shape of the Krampus...
So maybe Krampus is in fact a disguised Cernunnos?

Hmm... according to Wikipedia, Krampus is a figure inΒ Austria, Bavaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary,Β Northern Italy,Β Slovenia, and South Tyrol. That strikes me as more Germanic than Celtic, though it could have roots in both.
