A very simple, effective image. The contrast from dark sky and deep shadows under the stick with the pale of the sand is fantastic. And I love the way you've captured the ripples in the sand.

The original is shot on Fuji colour stock. Very blue sky which went deep blue with polarisation. This coupled with the white sand gave it a high contrast to start, and after converting to duotone and adjusting curves came out with this result...
glad you like it.. Almost went blind shooting it. Sand was white and bright and I forgot my sunglasses in the car. Was getting snowblind so had to walk around with my camera stopped down as a sort of makeshift sunglass

Impressive shot and a wonderful rendition. The dark sky up top balances perfectly with the shadows cast by (I'm assuming) dried shrub. Excellent composition.

slow film, polarising filter, bright subject and deep blue sky and a bit of fiddling with curves got this effect... Glad you like it
