Hello! I'm commenting on behalf of 's tag game. My word was 'sitting'. I chose this particular drawing because I felt like it related to the tag word the closest.
I've only recently finished the game (and I've only seen a little bit of the Pacifist run), so I am quite new to Undertale. Though this artwork caught my eye because it expressed the feelings of the final moments in the game very well.
The emotions you show in their expressions is very good. I felt sad when I played the game because I wasn't able to save Asgore (even though I choose mercy ;;A;; ). This game taught me a lot of things; it taught me that writers can give life to characters. I've never felt so sad for a character before in any game. And your artwork expresses that emotion. Although this drawing is simple, with no colours and little shading, it shows the emotions that I felt during the battle with Asgore, and expresses those feelings from your perspective.
I only have one constructive comment to make on this, and it is about Asgore's hand. I think his hand should be smaller, and his thumb should be on the other side of the hand.
Other than that, I think this picture is really amazing!! You did a really great job
R.I.P Asgore//cries

Thank you for your comment. However, when making this, his thumb was on the side closer to his body, where I thought it should be. The finger closest to the viewer is his little finger and may look like the thumb due to the curvature of the fifth metacarpal. I will have to remember to make it less blatant the next time. Thank you for your observation.

You're welcome! I hope I wasn't too harsh since I'm not used to writing critiques ;w; And sorry for misunderstanding

Critiques can be harsh or kind; I usually try to be the latter, but personally think it's more important that the critique is right. Your critique wasn't wrong. I needed to make the thumb more obvious and the little finger less thumb-like to avoid confusion in the first place.
Plus, if I disregarded someone's critique simply because it wasn't worded kindly, it's my loss, no?

Okay ^_^
I wish I had written my critique a little bit better though. I forgot to mention how much your fanart inspired me. It makes me want to try drawing Undertale fanart too xD You're a really great artist...

Oh? That's surprising to hear, considering the amount of good fanart on DA and Tumblr, which are coloured, no less. Thank you for your kind words.

This is touching and seems definitely like what I would have done too in battle if I could. A lot of characters has gone through a lot and Asgore is no different as he had to juggle a lot of things on his shoulders like his duty, guilt, and loss, while dealing with feelings/actions on what to do.

Yes, he had to do what he didn't want to for the good of everyone, but in the end, it didn't work. A classic tragedy.

Nice to see you again. This is 's Tagline Game. My word is "Battle royale", and oh my I so whish there was another ending for this. The battle was epic!
This picture fills me, with.... a lot of emotions: sadness, peace, hope, Determination!
Personally, I don't find Asgore as being a coward, just insecure. As you mentioned, he had been through a lot, and the breakdown is visible in your picture. Efforts used to keep everyone 'determined' he lost himself, and guilty of his actions, and indirectly seeks for Frisks understandment and affection. Despite he almost killed the kid. And when he is forgiven, the guilt hinders and he's incapable to forgive himself. With all the emotions contradicting inside, the energy is draied out and he begins to cry. You managed to capture the final transition, and adding little Frisk trying to confort him, in emphasizes the moment.
The picture itself is simple, with no color, and because of that, the viewer can pay attention on what's going on, feel as an observer, but at the same time involved, in the reunion. With no literar colors, the artwork speaks in it's own patern.
And the...sword, or fork(?) stuck deep in the ground, marks the end of the misery.
The one thing that bothers me, is Asgore's left hand. It looks stranged, twisted in an unatural way, also the angle of the fingers, maked the big finger seem outside, instead close to the body. I think you should rectify that.
Other than that, you did an awesome job, keep it up!
And with that, the tag line is over, thanks for participing. Hope to see you again! Bye!

Thank you for your kind and detailed comment~
Yesh, I wish there was some other way for it to end, but poor Asgore can't seem to catch a break in the game~ ;-;
there's no colour because I can't colour to save my life lol
As for the hand, the downward-pointing finger is actually his thumb, but I lined it incorrectly, so it isn't too clear on the first look >.< sorry...
Thank you again, and see you on the next Tag game~

First off, I would like to say that I really like this drawing. Alot. The way you drew Asgore conveys so much emotion, to the extent where it touched my heart. I haven't seen many fanworks of Asgore on dA so I'm rather glad to see something like this. It is a breath of fresh air, so to speak. Secondly, I believe that if you were to add color into the drawing, it would be a much more beautiful and touching image. Lastly, keep up the good work!

Thank you for your nice comment. Yes, I also think Asgore is underrated as opposed to his ex-wife, despite the fact that he put himself through arguably worse, while struggling with his own demons and the sake of the monsters. Poor fellow. Thank you so much.
Also, I can't colour for shit, or I would've loved to ;^;

Man, this is a great drawning man.
Poor guy deserve a break. He never asked all of this. He just want everyone to be happy, and not hurt anyone. Don't know why some people hate him.

Wow, thank you so much for your kind compliment~
I'm guessing people hate him because Toriel hates him, not really seeing that Toriel herself was also weak, giving in to her own insecurities and fears to keep the truth from Frisk, even though she knows nearly everything about the past... they're all flawed characters, and that's good.

Well, it's true lot of people are completely head over heel with "goatmom". And you're right. If ASGORE was a coward, Toriel was one too. Instead, she just run away from responsiblities. But ASGORE, at least, did his best to keep monster people hope up.
Well, i don't like toriel all that much. But you're right, every character is flawed and got their good point.
