Description
For Chaplain Lightning of the Alfa Legion, who is quite the insane fellow, which is saying something for a superhuman religious fanatic in power armour/ cathedral.Edit: made a sharper, cleaner version here , and it's beautiful. Check his page out, it is beautiful.

You did a very good job on the details and also on the dynamic pose of the figure. It really looks very vivid and striking. In my opinion, though, it would get a much higher impact if you would work out more the shadows and highlights - you should try to make the shades really dark and intensify the process to the highlights.
In my opinion, it would make a impressive artwork outstanding.
Compared with the armour, the head of the "Crozius Arcanum" is rather flat. It lacks the three-dimensionality of the rest of the drawing.
One last thing to make it even more dynamic - as the Chaplain is sprinting towards the observer, the candle flames should lean towards the rear, as well as the pergaments on shoulder and between the legs should flutter and not just hang down.

Thank you for those words of advice. Yes, I think I messed up the effects on the candle-flames and loincloth, which could've been done much better...
The shadows weren't hard enough either. It would've made the Crozius easier to look at, too. I don't know how to do highlights with pencil, though - the paper is white, and I only have black pencils, and everything eventually gets smudged or darkened...

I would not call it "messed up" at all - the work is great!
For highlights, if you don't wanna use a white gel pen:
try darkening the whole area very softly and then use an eraser (best choice would be a kneated one) to remove some of the graphite on the spots supposed to be highlighted.
I do this very often, but it demands that shadows are very intense, otherwise you will not be able to see it.

My eraser just smudges the graphite. There aren't many options around.

I really love his chaplain-ness, especially the candles behind his head; they are really well-done imho! (Alpharius would be proud, I think)
I think a little more shading could really bring out his details, but overall, I love the details you did! This really looks like a Chaplain who believes in his religious war!
The only things I can think of that you could improve upon, would be; his right hand (the one gripping his mace), and the wings and skull on the mace could use a little work, but his other hand looks great!
I love the dirt coming up under his shoe, and his religious crotch-cloth! As a whole, really well done, please continue! ^_^
